I can’t believe the citizens of Saint John saw fit to elect Shirley back to office. If only as a councilor… we need people with a new perspective. She was not the sharpest knife in the drawer when Mayor. I applaud the fresh start for mayor and council… but disappointed to see someone who helped to create these problems we are facing back in council.

I COMPLETELY agree. As I posted earlier, the problems we are facing are based on the decisions of people who were in leadership – this includes former mayor McAlary. If anything, she could just serve to be a hinderance to progress. Time will tell.

McAlary is back?! What were people thinking? She was a terrible mayor whom displayed only the worst decision making. I am disturbed to see her return to governance.

Steady Shirley, that’s why I voted for her. As a Mayor she was not my favorite, however with her experience, I expect far greater things from her. We all loved her when she held the taxes which resulted in the water and our roads being in the condition they are now.
Let remind you all that she was only one vote, the same as our past Mayor, who is now being burned as if he was the only member of council in favor Peel Plaza and other projects, not to mention the pension. Its not a wonder in Saint John how we get anyone
to run for council. GOOD LUCK TO SHIRLEY AND ALL THE COUNCIL.
