Once again, the Mayor is lashing out at anyone who gets in his way.
This time, Deputy Mayor Chase and Councillor Farren are bearing the brunt of his attacks.
They are concerned about the rising costs of building a police station. Something the majority of people in Saint John would likely agree with (and coincidentally – a majority of Council does too).
They have said they are willing to hold off on building a police station, should the project prove to be too expensive for taxpayers.
“I wish we could voice opinion without someone on council thumping their fists and calling out accusations,” Chase said.
“A tough decision at the end of the day, might be saying ‘no,’ that’s real leadership. And I’m not saying ‘no’ at this point. If the final cost is just too heavy and it’s going to strangle our tax rate, I think that needs to be weighed.”
I say thank you to both Chase and Farren!
I want my tax dollars are spent properly – on things that the citizens want – NOT what Ivan wants.
Ivan could learn a lot about leadership if he took the time to listen to the citizens.
